P u r p o s e : To advise, govern, oversee policy and direction, and assist in fundraising and general promotion of My Daughter’s Foundation, Inc. so as to support the organization’s mission and needs.
M i s s i o n S t a t e m e n t :
The mission of My Daughter’s Foundation, Inc. is to assist in the full (SPIRITUAL, MENTAL, CULTURAL, ECONOMIC, PHYSICAL AND SOCIAL) development and empowerment of the female spirit. The primary objectives are to fund, guide, support and maintain the Foundation’s core educational components.
*M a j o r R e s p o n s i b i l i t i e s :
- Organizational leadership and advisement
- Organization of the board of directors, officers, and committees
- Formulation and oversight of policies and procedures
- Financial management, including adoption and oversight of the annual budget
- Oversight of program planning and evaluation
- Personnel evaluation and staff development
- Review of organizational and programmatic reports
- Promotion of the organization
- Fundraising and outreach for core educational components
*Members of the Board of Servants share these responsibilities while acting in the interest of My Daughter’s Foundation, Inc. Each member is expected to make recommendations based on his or her experience and vantage point in the community.
L e n g t h o f T e rm :
Two years, which may be renewed up to a maximum of three consecutive terms, pending approval of the board.
M e e t i n g s & T i m e C o m m i t m e n t :
- The Board of Servants meets Month through Month on the second ? of the month, 7:00 p.m., in Louisville, Ky. Meetings typically last ? minutes.
- Committees of the board meet an average of four times per year, pending their respective work agenda.
- Board members are asked to attend at least three special events or meetings per year, as they are determined.
E x p e c t a t i o n s:
- Develop and maintain personal relationships with residents of Nyleve’s Haven.
- Attend and participate in meetings on a regular basis, and special events as able.
- Participate on a standing committee of the board, and serve on ad-hoc committees as necessary.
- Be alert to community concerns that can be addressed by My Daughter’s Foundation, Inc. mission, objectives, and core educational components.
- Help communicate and promote My Daughter’s Foundation, Inc. mission and core educational components to the community.
- Become familiar with My Daughter’s Foundation, Inc. finances, budget, and financial/resource needs.
- Understand the policies and procedures of My Daughter’s Foundation, Inc.
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for My Daughter’s Foundation, Inc.
- Financially support My Daughter’s Foundation, Inc. in a manner commensurate with one’s ability.
